05/17/2014 | Hogs & Horses Ride For Our Troops!

In honor of our U.S. troops past, and present, Hogs & Horses will be having our 7th Annual “RIDE FOR OUR TROOPS!!” Charity Poker Run and Trail Ride event to benefit the Veterans Outreach Center of Grace Resources.

The date this year will be Saturday, May 17th, 2014.

Sign ups begin at 8:00 a.m. at Vincent Hill Station Restaurant & Saloon, located at 553 W. Sierra Highway, Acton, CA 93510. There will be easy horse trailer parking across Sierra Highway at the VHS Arena.

You don’t have to ride to join in on this great event!!! Everyone is welcome. Please show your support by coming on down at Noon to enjoy our great BBQ lunch, shop with our vendors, participate in our auction and raffle and then dance the day and night away with music by Runaway Train and the Acton All-Stars

The event called Hogs & Horses – Ride for Our Troops was originally organized when some long time Acton, CA residents started talking about finding a way to show their appreciation and respect for the men and women who volunteer to serve in our country’s armed forces.

The idea took root and quickly developed into the “Hogs & Horses” ride, with friends and associates eagerly joining in to help organize, donate, volunteer and participate.

In the past Hogs & Horses has raised funds for a terrific organization called The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, and while we continue to support and salute this fine organization, the H&H board has become aware of a need closer to home.

Once again the proceeds for this year’s event will benefit the Antelope Valley Veteran’s Outreach through The Grace Resource Center. The funds will be earmarked for providing food, clothing, medical care, counseling, job placement, and more for our men and women who are in need of these basic services, after returning from their service.

Our goal remains the same: Raise awareness, raise money, show our support and respect for our troops, and have a great time while we are doing it!
